We’re looking for a Manager of Public Affairs and Marketing, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position, you’ll lead regional storytelling, market-level brand visibility, and community engagement strategies across campuses. This role is responsible for elevating the local profile of our providers and services, amplifying patient and program stories, and building strong external relationships that enhance awareness and support growth. The manager will partner with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and local stakeholders to ensure the organization is well‑positioned, trusted, and visible in every community it serves.
Develops and executes strategic public affairs and marketing plans to strengthen the organization’s presence across markets and campuses
Partners with service line leaders and local executives to understand growth priorities and develop targeted marketing initiatives that increase awareness of key programs and services
Builds and maintains strong relationships with community partners, civic organizations, advocacy groups, schools, and local leaders
Monitors local issues and emerging trends that may impact the hospital’s reputation or community standing
Develops high-quality content for local media, social platforms, community communications, and internal stakeholders
Works closely with enterprise marketing, public affairs, digital, clinical, and operational teams to ensure alignment across markets
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing/advertising, journalism or related field required
8 years of experience in public affairs, marketing, media relations or community engagement experience required
Healthcare, nonprofit or academic medicine experience preferred
Bilingual communication experience preferred
About Texas Children’s Texas Children’s presence in Austin helps support a pediatric population of more than half a million and keeps kids healthy and happy from birth to adulthood. Texas Children’s first health care location in Austin, Texas Children’s Urgent Care West Gate, opened in March 2018, providing high quality pediatric-focused care after hours and on weekends. There are now more than 15 Texas Children’s Pediatric primary care practices in the greater Austin area providing full-service family care including routine childhood immunizations, well visits, and sick care. Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services. Texas Children’s Hospital North Austin, is our new state‑of‑the‑art facility providing world‑class pediatric and maternal care to Austin families.
