The NewsNation Associate Producer is responsible for contributing story ideas, writing stories and segments, compiling elements to support those stories, and organizing them within an energetic and memorable way for the respective broadcasts. The position is based at the network's offices in Washington, DC or New York, NY.Duties & Responsibilities:Pitches story ideasResearches production topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sourcesGathers elements: video, stills, user generated contentMakes graphics requests when neededWrites editorial copyAssist in preparing and executing live correspondent hits or guests segmentsFill-in as newscast line producer when assignedPerform other tasks as assigned by show leaders or news managementRequirements & Skills:Three to five year's experience in national or major-market television newsBA/BS degree or equivalent degree in journalism or related fieldStrong writing skills requiredAbility to create dynamic graphic and video elementsMust be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of peopleInteract well with on-air talent, news managers, videographers, production, digital and engineering staffDetail-orientedExcellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skillsExhibit strong news judgmentHandle stress, including short deadlinesWork at a computer for extended periods of timeMust be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidaysSalary Range: $60,000 - $80,000Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
