REQ-39592NewsNation seeks a Senior Story Editor to join the producing team for a new daily show. The Senior Story Editor will play a key role in helping to elevate the writing and production value of the program by taking a lead role in crafting selecting stories, producing segments, crafting interview questions, and assisting the show host. In addition to being a lead producer, the story editor also assists in checking scripts and show elements for accuracy, style, balance. The position is based at the network's offices in Washington, DC.Responsibilities:Pitch story ideas and make guest suggestions which align with show’s editorial directionCrafts copy, segments, and interview questionsCopy edit and reworks scripts and content produced by segment producers and associate producers as neededCheck accuracy of graphics and video elementsPerforms special projects and other duties as assignedQualifications:Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital)Excellent writing and copy-editing skillsSegment producing experienceStrong organizational, and people skills are vitalThe successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who brings lots of ideas to the tableBachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceSalary Range: (per experience) $150,000 – $170,000 Annualized.Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
