Freelance Social Media Strategist:
LinkedIn Newsletter Expert
Everybody At Once (EA1) is an award‑winning, Black and female‑led digital agency based in New York City, Los Angeles, and the Carolinas specializing in building relationships between brands and consumers. Our mission is to build the world’s most engaged audiences.
Location:
Remote
Contract:
2-3 month engagement, with potential for an ad hoc extension
About the Client:
We aim to launch a high‑impact LinkedIn Newsletter that engages key entertainment industry stakeholders, including media professionals, content creators, marketers, and business partners.
The Role:
We’re seeking a highly strategic and experienced freelance Social Media Strategist who specializes in LinkedIn Newsletters. This is not a content‑creation‑only role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building the entire framework for our newsletter program, from high‑level strategy to day‑to‑day operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Research:
Conduct in‑depth industry and competitive research to identify content opportunities and gaps. Define the overarching strategy for the newsletter, including audience personas, content pillars, and a unique voice that resonates with our target B2B audience.
Operational Workflow:
Develop and document a clear, efficient operational strategy for content creation. This includes defining key processes for collaboration with a wide group of internal stakeholders and departments (e.g., marketing, PR, business development) to ensure a smooth, repeatable workflow.
Growth & Optimization:
Advise on and implement LinkedIn‑native growth levers, such as follower prompts, cross‑promotion, and employee amplification to build our subscriber base. Optimize content formats, headlines, cadence, and distribution strategies for maximum impact on LinkedIn's feed.
Content Articulation & Guidance:
Articulate content needs to a team of in‑house writers and designers. Create detailed content briefs, provide strategic direction for each newsletter issue, and guide the team to produce content that aligns with the established strategy and brand voice.
Platform Expertise & Monitoring:
Monitor and stay ahead of LinkedIn algorithm shifts, platform policies, and new features, recommending best‑practice adjustments to maintain a competitive edge.
Performance Analysis:
Define the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the newsletter based on an understanding of LinkedIn and newsletter‑specific metrics (e.g., subscriber growth, open rates, click‑through rates, engagement rates, and shares). Collaborate with our analytics agency to ratify the measurement plan, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting, and use insights to provide data‑driven recommendations that optimize the program’s performance.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Proven LinkedIn Expertise:
Portfolio that demonstrates direct experience in creating, launching, and growing a successful LinkedIn Newsletter, either for a client or as a personal project. Please provide links to your past work.
Highly Collaborative:
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including internal stakeholders, clients, and partner agencies. Able to navigate conversations with both LinkedIn experts and those who are new to the platform, translating complex ideas into clear, actionable guidance.
B2B & B2C Experience:
Experience working with B2B brands, particularly within the entertainment, media, or tech industries. Strong understanding of the business side of the entertainment landscape is a significant plus.
Strategic & Analytical Mindset:
Ability to translate high‑level business objectives into a practical, actionable content strategy. Comfortable using data to inform decisions and prove success.
Exceptional Communication:
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Able to manage relationships with multiple internal stakeholders and clearly articulate your vision and progress.
Self‑Starter:
Proactive, independent worker who can take ownership of a project from concept to execution.
Creativity:
Ability to think ahead of the industry to create and advise on a newsletter that innovates and excites subscribers.
