Architectural Design Specialist

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading sports facility and modular building design company in Louisville, KY, is seeking an Architectural  Design Specialist to join their team! This is a partially remote, salaried position offering a competitive starting salary of $75,000 along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401K, and more.

Architectural Design Specialist Job Summary:

  • Pay: Starting at $75,000 annually

  • Location: Louisville, KY 

  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week; occasional overtime may be required to meet project needs

Responsibilities:

  • Create project designs using Autodesk AutoCAD, including proposal, approval, shop, and field drawings

  • Generate RFIs as needed to clarify project details

  • Review drawings, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation

  • Attend project-specific meetings to ensure efficient design within scope of work

  • Collaborate with engineering and project management to communicate design requirements

  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvements

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of products and their application to projects

  • Communicate complex details to ensure accurate release of information to manufacturing

  • Support cross-functional project needs as required

  • Ensure project tasks meet metrics: Correct, On Time, and On Budget

  • Contribute to team development and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (architecture, engineering, or related field) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or relevant experience

  • Understanding of construction practices and principles

  • Experience managing or coordinating small projects from concept to construction documentation

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office

  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Passion for technological advancement and personal growth

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
