The Senior Network Engineer develops, implements, and maintains complex automation solutions for network technologies, including switches, routers, and firewalls. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams, automating network processes, building and managing deployment pipelines, supporting daily operations, and continuously improving network performance and cost efficiency. The position also includes documentation, monitoring, and incident management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage development of automation solutions for existing and new network technologies
Develop, configure, implement, and test multiple network platforms to streamline operations
Collaborate with Engineering teams to incorporate infrastructure provisioning into deployment pipelines
Automate network processes and improve overall code base; create, develop, and own pipelines for automation
Innovate and propose improvements, including network programmability and automation enhancements
Support engineering and operations teams in daily tasks and assume responsibility for automation design and transition
Document issues and incidents for knowledge base purposes
Manage and maintain infrastructure tool sets, including alerting, monitoring, and management tools
Guide teams to simplify processes for complex network deployments
REQUIRED SKILLS
Development and automation experience with network technologies
Working knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and session border controllers
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Rundeck, Terraform
Familiarity with Cisco, Palo Alto FW, SD-WAN, NGFW, Aruba Wireless, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Meraki, Netbox
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
Ability to obtain a 6C Clearance
PREFERRED SKILLS
Extensive experience with end-to-end network connectivity and correlation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
