Job Summary By the Yard is currently hiring a Store Manager for our Jordan Showroom! This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations in the store to ensure that we are always delivering on the best possible customer experience. The Showroom Manager proactively manages the customer experience and coaches the showroom team to build relationships with every customer that comes through the door. Responsible for the day‑to‑day upkeep of the showroom and maintenance. Maintain and grow relationships with our retail customers and educate our walk‑in guests with the objective of converting a store visit into a sale. This is not a work remote or commission‑based position. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assure long‑term customer relationships are built and that all team members exceed customer expectations.
Oversee showroom appearance and ensure overall display is consistent with expectations (layouts, organization, cleanliness).
Interact daily with customers in the showroom and via phone to build lasting relationships based on trust and confidence in the product.
Ensure daily sales and showroom tasks are performed consistently.
Maintain consistent practices and procedures.
Schedule and coordinate employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
Recommend staff levels and assist with recruiting and hiring.
Perform evaluations including coaching, mentoring, counseling, and disciplinary actions for the showroom team.
Help with training of new consultants and continuing education of current staff.
Report on showroom and team sales and metrics; adhere to showroom budgets.
Collaborate with the Customer Experience Manager around goals and strategies to achieve showroom growth.
Monitor showroom team metrics and hold the team accountable to goals and initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration/Management, or related field preferred.
Experience working as an inside salesperson preferred.
Experience overseeing staff, including recruiting, training, development, and performance required.
Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality required.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent leadership skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Will working some weekends, overtime, and occasional travel.
Physical and Mental Demands Physically capable of occasionally lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Ability to spend long periods of time working on the computer, typing, standing, walking, and sitting. Able to see, hear, and speak to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
Working Environment This is a retail/office environment with the possibility of evening and/or weekend schedules. The noise level is usually moderate.
