FAR INSPECTIONS
Overview
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Mortgage field inspection experience is not required; the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work independently is essential. FAR Inspections has been in business for over nine years and offers a 1099 position with rates that vary by county and volume.
Responsibilities
Conduct most inspections in 5–6 minutes and complete them within four days of assignment.
Verify property occupancy, report general property conditions, and determine occupancy status using a mobile application.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments and complete a short form in the app.
Spend extended periods driving and making multiple stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume, with a typical earning of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county’s urban or rural status, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates; higher volume counties offer more work but a lower rate. Earnings increase as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory. No mileage reimbursement is provided above the flat fee per inspection.
