Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections, located in Reno, NV, is searching for highly motivated independent contractors to conduct residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required—time management and meeting deadlines are essential. Base location: Reno, NV. The company has been in business for over nine years.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5–6 minutes.
Submit each inspection within four days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an application.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops throughout the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (you pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Each inspection pays a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Expect equivalent earnings of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on your county’s demand, you may complete from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties offer higher rates; high‑volume counties offer lower rates. Work volume is consistent month to month, and earnings can increase with established reputation, greater availability, or a larger territory. No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
