Mortgage Field Services Inspector
– FAR INSPECTIONS – Reno, NV
Job Summary FAR Inspections seeks highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. The role requires managing a flexible schedule, completing timely inspections, and reporting property conditions using a mobile application.
Responsibilities
Conduct exterior or interior inspections (approximately 5‑6 minutes per visit).
Complete inspections within 4 days of assignment.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Fill out a short form in the mobile app.
Travel extensively within the designated county/territory.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Requirements
Reliable computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage; mileage reimbursed only as part of flat fee).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection is paid a flat rate that varies by county and volume, equivalent to approximately $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on county type, you may complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties pay higher rates; higher volume counties pay lower rates. Work is consistent month‑to‑month.
No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
