Direct Support Professional, Community Integration Program

Do you prefer being out in the community rather than confined to a desk? We are looking for Direct Support Professionals to lend support to participants in our Community Integration Program.

Our Community Integration Program
This is a 100% community‑based day program serving adults with developmental disabilities. The program focuses on pre‑vocational skills, safe use of public transportation, social skills practice, and exploration of individual interests.
Responsibilities
Meet participants at a community hub each morning and facilitate the scheduled activities for the day, including use of public transportation.
Provide opportunities for participants to develop socialization/interpersonal communication skills and practice self‑regulation/coping techniques.
Provide hands‑on training, observation, and evaluation of participants’ pre‑vocational skills, and find educational opportunities or classes to assist with further development.
Advocate for participants’ inclusion in the community and empower them to exercise their rights.
Use BuildAbility’s digital program to log individual progress and performance.
Schedule
Part‑time (27 hours per week)
Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Compensation
Starting at $19.00–$22.00 per hour (depending on prior experience and qualifications)

Required Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner.
High school diploma or GED.
Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance.
Valid California driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluent in Spanish.
Cultural awareness and adaptability.
Familiarity with the Los Angeles Metro system (MetroGo app, route planning, etc.).
Knowledge of HCBS Final rule guidelines.
Crisis management skills.
Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities (on‑the‑job training will be provided).
