Our Quest Tailored Day Services Program

In this program, we serve adults with developmental disabilities in their homes or the community, focusing on post‑secondary education, vocational interests, and other personal goals. Community Mentors travel to meet 1-3 individuals per day and provide one‑on‑one direct support.

Responsibilities

Provide individual support in the home or community setting as identified in the participant’s Individualized Personal Plan.

Work closely with the participant’s support team to identify needs and develop plans.

Navigate private and public resources to create opportunities for growth, develop skills, and meet specific goals outlined in the Individual Service Design and IPP.

Travel with participants throughout the local community to attend social events, recreational activities, school, etc.

Advocate for participants’ rights and individual choice in all settings and provide services in accordance with HCBS Final Rule guidelines.

Complete required documentation, including daily notes, activities using Buildability digital platforms, and written reports of client progress or barriers encountered in meeting goals.

Perform other duties as assigned to assure the efficiency of program services.

Schedule

Part‑time position (15 -25 hours per week)

Day shift, Monday to Friday

Weekend availability

Hours assigned are subject to change weekly based on availability

Work location

San Fernando Valley, East Valley, Burbank, Glendale, North Hills

Compensation

Starting at $19.00 - $22.00/hour (depending on prior experience and qualifications)

Part‑time Benefits

Required Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner.

High school diploma or GED.

Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance.

Valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.

Willing to travel: up to 75%.

Cultural awareness and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluent in Spanish.

Familiarity with the Los Angeles Metro system (MetroGo app, route planning, etc.).

Experience with resource navigation (Transportation resources, accessibility resources, etc.).

Crisis management skills.

Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities. If you don’t have experience, we will provide on‑the‑job training. Some of our best staff did not have experience prior to being hired at BuildAbility!
