The Job
Marsh McLennan Agency is seeking a Business Insurance Market Specialist with a passion for collaborating and providing a high‑quality client experience in our Northwest region. The ideal candidate will partner with Business Insurance colleagues to manage the marketing of new and renewal accounts to various insurance companies, serve as the primary resource for marketing analytics, negotiate carrier coverages/terms, and finalize the market process. You will provide technical leadership in support of new business development and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Market large and middle market commercial business accounts, both new and renewals. Prepare submissions for marketing that include program design, pricing targets, and market selection. Attend proposal presentation meetings as necessary.
Canvas markets/carriers for marketing intelligence on carriers and potential clients. Meet with carrier underwriters to discuss carrier appetites and guidelines and share information with the internal team.
Analyze and review account exposures, including loss summaries and loss runs. Conduct policy exposure analyses as needed.
Assist and back up Account Management and Sales Executive teams with obtaining information from new business prospects, preparing new business and renewal proposals, and other policy information.
Maintain relationships with carriers and colleagues to communicate carrier pricing info, product information, and support carrier directives and guidelines.
Upsell and cross‑sell: work with your colleagues to pursue upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.
Follow organization policies and procedures, sales and service standards, and established workflows. Ensure quality control through proper file documentation and maintenance. Maintain confidentiality and contribute as an all‑around awesome member of our team.

Additional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of related business experience
Commercial rating experience preferred, but not required
Advanced insurance education (INS, AU, CPCU, etc.) preferred, but not required
Applicable current state insurance licensure
