FAR INSPECTIONS
Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Based in Reno, NV, contractors will earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Independent contractors are sent to verify property occupancy and report general condition via a mobile application.
Responsibilities
Most inspections are exterior only and should take 5–6 minutes.
Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the app.
Be able to drive for extended periods, making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. Contractors can earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county type, you will complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Payments are consistent month to month.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
