Repoting to Sales Manager Non-Automotive, this position of Sales Engineer Non-Automotive is responsible and accountable for sales activities to non-automotive OEMs, non-automotive Tier Suppliers, and Distributors for accounts and/or territories assigned by the Vice President of Sales and/or the Sales Manager. The Sales Engineer participates in the development of department and personal goals and works closely with the management team to support the company's goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform North American sales activities of Hutchinson Precision Sealing Systems as assigned by the Sales Manager. This includes but is not exhaustive, developing sales strategies, customer development, customer relations, negotiating contracts, revenue, and gross profit forecasting.

Aggressively grow the sales to the OEM, Tier, and Distribution markets as assigned.

Participate in the formulation of short‑term and long‑term action plans that support company strategy.

Analyzes cost data and market prices to help increase and assure profitability.

Meet or surpass the individual yearly objectives agreed with the Sales Manager, to support company strategy.

Monitor and report progress toward individual and company objectives via the available tools.

Maintains accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports via the available tools.

Comply with internal procedures and defined rules.

Continuously evaluate systems and procedures and recommend improvements.

Assist Business Development and Application Engineers to propose technical product solutions that meet customer needs.

Develop and maintain the pipeline of RFQs for new business opportunities.

Consults with Product Development, R&D, and/or Manufacturing Engineering in the preparation of pricing RFQ's.

Perform the benchmarking of his/hers assigned markets in order to define and justify an appropriated price level.

Monitor the technical evolutions and/or competition trend of his/hers assigned markets.

Must stay current with international variances in cultural and legal issues pertaining to sales.

Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Act as liaison between Customers and Manufacturing and/or Engineering as required by management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four‑year college or university in engineering, business or equivalent.

Plus a minimum of 2 years' experience as Sales Engineer; automotive/industrial markets or B2B sales.

Qualifications

Have the aptitude to understand technical requirements and solutions (prints, specifications, etc.).

Able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Able to travel to Mexico and Canada. (passport required)
