Estimator is responsible for all activities related to estimating the elements of a project cost including labor, materials, permanent equipment, etc., and at all levels of the design process (Conceptual – Construction Documents). This is a Remote Position with main office located in Fort Worth, TX.

Duties and Responsibilities Minimum 10+ years of experience in the estimating construction Industry. Knowledge of QTO using Bluebeam/Planswift, Microsoft Office utilities, and Adobe Acrobat.

Not required but beneficial if knowledgeable of TRACES MII & PACES .

Responsible for cross-discipline scopes of work. (Ideal if have a strong Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing background).

Able to prepare Order of Magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques. Prepare construction costs for contract modifications, design changes, and value engineering alternatives.

Maintain appropriate company databases and industry historical data for consistency in costing estimates and forecasting trends.

Obtain pricing data and quotes from vendors, manufacturers, suppliers to validate estimate costs and basis for pricing.

Able to prepare project and discipline estimate summaries, estimate reviews, and monthly progress reports

Able to meet with clients and comprehend project scope, subsequent deliverables and lead the estimate effort.

Job Requirements

Engineering, construction or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Understanding plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials, labor and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, conceptual narratives, project reports.

Ability to travel for project meetings, site visits, value engineering studies | Local and out-of-town venues (overnight stays may be required) | Defense Travel Management Office per diem rates apply

Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.

Education / Experience desired

Associate’s degree or prior estimating, engineering and management experience required.

Certified Cost Engineer or Certified Professional Estimator,

a plus

Ability to understand different project scheduling software or have experience in using Primavera or Microsoft Project software,

a plus .

Ability to understand different project BIM software or have experience in using Revit, Navisworks or other BIM utilities.
