This position is directly responsible for independently managing assigned project development initiatives for Onward Energy across conventional and renewable generating technologies. The ideal candidate has 7 to 10 years of experience in energy project development, including environmental and land use permitting, interconnection, land rights, stakeholder engagement, and offtake activities.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with internal and external resources (e.g., subject matter experts) to manage and advance all aspects of project development: environmental and land use permitting, interconnection, land rights, stakeholder engagement, and offtake activities
Develop and cultivate strategic relationships with contractors, regulatory and government bodies, local communities, equipment suppliers, and other stakeholders
Engage with stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the development process, including attending community engagement events and public hearings
Support cross‑functional teams throughout origination efforts, including preparation of marketing materials and bid submission packages for participation in competitive offtake solicitations (i.e., responses to Requests for Proposals)
Stay well‑informed and up to date with industry trends impacting current and future energy development opportunities, including interconnection processes, environmental and land use permitting, tax incentives, technology developments, market structuring and regulations, etc.
At least seven (7) years of experience in project development in the energy industry, thermal generation experience a plus.
Strong project management capabilities, flexibility, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong, creative problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Able to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, management, and unaffiliated third parties.
THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to accomplish physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, and have closing and distance vision capability.
Ability to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
