HR Consultant
Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to partner with organizations in strengthening and modernizing their people operations. This role focuses on assessing current HR practices, identifying gaps, and implementing compliant, efficient, and scalable solutions that support business goals.
The ideal candidate is confident, discreet, and solutions-oriented—someone who can step into complex environments, bring structure and clarity, and leave organizations stronger than they found them.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of HR policies, procedures, and systems to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Design and implement streamlined HR processes across areas such as compliance, payroll coordination, benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management
Ensure HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices
Partner with leadership to resolve employee relations issues professionally and proactively
Develop and update employee handbooks, job descriptions, and internal documentation
Support organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, growth, or post-acquisition integration
Implement or optimize HRIS and payroll workflows in collaboration with internal teams and vendors
Train managers and leadership on HR best practices, compliance, and effective people management
Serve as a trusted advisor while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive HR experience, consulting preferred
Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR operations
Experience entering organizations with limited or inconsistent HR infrastructure
Proven ability to influence leadership and drive change diplomatically
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred
