Position Overview As an entry‑level mechanical designer at Henderson Engineers, you will contribute your expertise to six market sectors, including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. Within each sector, we seamlessly integrate our engineering knowledge with the in‑the‑field experience of our sister company, Henderson Building Solutions, to deliver an unparalleled client experience. Key Responsibilities
Perform calculations and design basic engineering systems in collaboration with experienced design staff.
Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
Prepare or modify reports, plans, and designs for projects.
Support business development or pursuit activities.
Participate in client, company, and/or industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
Occasionally visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Seek to fill gaps in industry and/or discipline knowledge on a continuous basis.
Maintain knowledge of common industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural engineering or a related field and one year of experience, or three years of experience without a degree.
Basic proficiency in engineering design, including knowledge of A&E industry codes, design guides, and standards.
Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu software preferred.
Understanding of the fundamental principles of HVAC design.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
