Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic sales professional to build connections across the Bismarck-Central ND region. The role is entry‑level with growth opportunities at a premier equipment provider, celebrating 70 years in the marketplace.
Primary Responsibilities
Introduce and promote Butler Machinery and its products to new customers.
Build strong personal relationships with customers, serving as their primary point of contact.
Promote new and used CAT construction equipment, Massey Ferguson tractors & attachments, and rental solutions.
Demonstrate equipment features and communicate value to customers on jobsites or at homes.
Inspect and survey potential equipment trade‑ins.
Provide practical solutions based on customer needs and our products’ value.
Deliver world‑class customer service.
Sell parts, service, and Customer Value Agreements (CVAs).
Follow up on service or parts orders to secure customer loyalty.
Participate in training and obtain vendor certifications as requested.
Meet with coworkers and management to present obstacles, learn new skills, and grow professionally.
Establish new accounts and achieve activity minimums on assigned accounts.
Maintain market knowledge of competitors and construction phases to identify sales opportunities.
Handle after‑hour and emergency calls via company‑provided phone.
Participate in trade‑show, home‑show, and outreach events.
Promote the vision, mission, and values of BMC.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of or willingness to learn the local construction industry.
Knowledge of small agriculture, acreage & homestead needs.
Sales training and experience preferred.
Knowledge of BCP Caterpillar and related product lines preferred.
Basic accounting and equipment financing knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours (evenings) as needed.
Valid driving record required.
Pre‑employment drug testing conducted.
CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
Valid work authorization and ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
