AI Engineer IV - Mechanicsville, VA
We are looking for an AI Engineer IV to build, manage, and support Azure-based AI infrastructure. The role covers cloud environment setup, IaC, monitoring, CI/CD, patching, migration work, and operational support for mission‑critical systems. The environment spans multiple platforms including .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid. In‑person is required for interviews and laptop pick up.
Engagement Type: Contract, 6 months (Possibility of extension)
Position Overview
AI Engineer IV to build, manage, and support Azure-based AI infrastructure. The role covers cloud environment setup, IaC, monitoring, CI/CD, patching, migration work, and operational support for mission‑critical systems. The environment spans multiple platforms including .NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.
Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, maintain, and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure for AI workloads.
Provide technical guidance on Azure AI resource implementation and best practices.
Build and manage IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
Perform scheduled patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
Manage backup operations and recovery processes in critical environments.
Plan and execute cloud migrations, including on‑premises to Azure transitions.
Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and drive root‑cause resolution.
Work with security tools such as Tenable for vulnerability management.
Use SCCM and SCOM for automated patching and deployment.
Develop disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and prevent data loss.
Apply strong networking knowledge including OSI layers and core network protocols.
Required Qualifications
3+ years guiding implementation and operations of AI resources in Azure.
8+ years implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Azure environments.
10+ years performing patching and updates for security and stability.
10+ years managing backup and recovery in mission‑critical systems.
10+ years planning and executing cloud migrations.
10+ years supporting and troubleshooting production applications.
10+ years using SCCM and SCOM for patch automation and deployment.
Experience working across mixed technology stacks (.NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, Dynamics).
Experience with security tools such as Tenable.
Strong understanding of networking and OSI layers.
Nice‑to‑Have Certifications
Azure Solutions Architect
Network+, CCNA or similar.
