Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Property Manager, the Assistant Property Manager assists in the overall operation of the property, day‑to‑day implementation of policies, procedures and programs; maintains an acceptable occupancy level and develops a supportive environment for all residents, including special‑needs residents. The Assistant Property Manager interacts with and oversees vendors and establishes and maintains effective working relationships with onsite support staff.
Responsibilities
Interview and screen prospective residents for occupancy.
Prepare, process and sign leases and rules.
Purchase general supplies and services following the P.O. policy and procedures.
Assist with inspections and monitor work orders.
Collect rent, receipting, and prepare deposits using Boston Post property management software.
Write warning letters and prepare legal notices to residents.
Submit required reports and maintain records according to JSCo policies.
Perform related work and other duties required.
Read, write and communicate fluently in English.
Excellent problem‑solving, listening and deductive reasoning skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Have 1–2 years of property‑management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties.
Prior experience in managing affordable housing complexes.
Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; be able to travel for training purposes.
Knowledgeable regarding company policies, federal, state and local laws, Tax Credit Section 42 and other rules that pertain to tenants.
Qualifications
1–2 years of property‑management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties.
Prior experience in managing affordable housing complexes.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Knowledge of company policies, federal, state and local laws, Tax Credit Section 42 and related tenant regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent problem‑solving, listening and deductive reasoning skills.
Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
Pay Range $24.00/hr – $25.00/hr.
