Current HFEMS Health Compliance Inspectors may maintain salary. New hires will receive $66,024 annually.
Position Summary
Assess care, treatment and quality of life provided by health care agencies through observations, interviews, and record review.
Evaluate statutes, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures for compliance or violation.
Conduct nursing observations, assist surveyors, and review serious deficiencies.
Write statements of deficiencies; identify non‑compliance.
Educate providers and consumers on regulations and guidelines.
Primarily work with IDD team; may assist other teams.
Responsibilities & Conditions of Employment
A pre‑employment background check.
Travel up to 75% of time across Colorado.
Work in environments where contagious diseases may be present.
Be available for emergencies and COOP activations.
Proficient in word processing and electronic communication.
Receive annual influenza and COVID‑19 vaccinations; perform fit testing and PPE training.
Flexible work schedule: evening, night, weekend, holidays as needed.
Physical requirements: lift up to 45 lbs, stand/walk, hold tablet, use state fleet vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications
Six (6) years of applicable health care experience in an IDD agency or similar program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (see details).
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare experience, preferably in IDD.
Experience in quality improvement and assessment of healthcare facilities.
Strong written communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in word processing and electronic tools.
Physical ability to meet job demands.
Confidentiality, honesty, integrity, and interpersonal skills.
