Business Development / Client Relationships Join the Underground Storage (UGS) team at WSP and help meet client objectives and solve challenges.

Location Houston, TX (also Baton Rouge, LA)

Responsibilities

Generate leads and develop relationships with new clients.

Bring in new business and interact with existing clients to maintain relationships.

Coordinate business development efforts with UGS project teams and assist with proposal preparations.

Review bid packages, negotiate discounts, and build relationships with vendors.

Give presentations to clients, attend bid walks, project kickoff meetings, and conferences.

Conduct post‑project completion follow‑up calls, make field visits to WSP project sites, and pitch business development ideas to leadership.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or 10+ years of direct business development experience in lieu of a degree.

10+ years of business development or sales experience.

Excellent computer knowledge for communication and document preparation.

Strong presentation skills and excellent verbal and written communication.

Extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry; understanding of production or injection well technology.

Self‑motivated team player with experience in technical writing, proposal development, cost estimation, and schedule development.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol policies.

Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of salt caverns, gas storage and disposal wells.

Familiarity with clients, consultants and suppliers for the underground storage industry.

Experience preparing cost proposals for injection and storage well construction and maintenance.

Prior consulting experience and written technical papers presented at conferences.

Travel Travel expected.

Testing and Drug Policy This role is subject to a client‑mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. Employees may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the testing policy will be provided during onboarding.

Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $122,700 – $185,000.
