Company Overview
Alchemy CO₂ is building the next-generation CO₂ platform — modular, redundant, and intelligent infrastructure designed to fix a structurally broken market.
The U.S. CO₂ supply chain is centralized and fragile, with long-haul logistics and recurring shortages that leave customers exposed. We’re not patching that system, we’re replacing it.
Our model, which we call Small CO₂, is a distributed network of compact, standardized CO₂ Production Units (CPUs) co-located with renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities. Each CPU captures biogenic CO₂ that would otherwise be vented, purifies it to beverage-grade quality, and delivers it locally through short-haul, milk-run logistics.
This distributed model flips the industry’s economics. It delivers reliability, proximity, and transparency to customers who’ve been left behind by the legacy system — from beverage bottlers to food processors to independent gas distributors.
We’re already proving it in Phoenix, where we’re launching our first plants in 2026 with strong offtake commitments and a growing base of high-fit partners. Every new site makes the network smarter, faster, and more resilient — a utility built to scale like software.

Commercial Manager

Location:

The Role
We’re hiring a Commercial Manager (Phoenix) to lead customer-facing operations as we commission our first CO₂ plants. This individual will play a central role in the commercialization and scaling of our Phoenix business — developing new customers, managing existing accounts, and coordinating product delivery in close collaboration with our operations and logistics teams.
This is a hands-on commercial role that combines customer development, account ownership, and delivery coordination. Success in this role requires initiative, operational judgment, and the ability to turn obstacles into action — creating solutions and structure where they don’t yet exist. It’s designed for someone who thrives in an early-stage environment where roles are broad, systems are still evolving, and success depends on initiative, organization, and follow-through.
The position is based in Phoenix and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Market Development (~70%)
Lead customer acquisition across the defined 250-mile Phoenix market region.
Build on existing lead lists to identify, qualify, and secure new end-user customers.
Negotiate and close multi-year supply contracts to fill remaining plant capacity.
Refine sales motion, messaging, and CRM discipline in collaboration with the CCO.
Represent Alchemy CO₂ with professionalism and confidence in all customer interactions.
Account Management (~15%)
Serve as the primary point of contact for 2–4 contracted customers in 2026.
Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing issues proactively and coordinating with operations as needed.
Capture insights from early customer experiences to inform our broader customer success strategy and future portal development.
Scheduling & Delivery Coordination (~15%)
Monitor customer consumption and tank levels to plan deliveries.
Align delivery schedules with plant production and distribution routing plans.
Work closely with the Plant Operations Manager and our logistics partner to ensure efficient, on-time deliveries and clear communication with customers.
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
100% of uncontracted Phoenix plant capacity secured under long-term agreements
Customer base expanded with high-quality end‑user accounts, aligned to ICP profile
Scheduling and delivery coordination operating smoothly with zero missed deliveries
Strong relationships established with customers, plant operations, and distribution partners
Early customer feedback loops captured to shape our broader commercial playbook
What We’re Looking For (Mindset Over Resume)
Commercial athlete – enjoys the hunt but cares equally about keeping customers happy
Builder mentality – thrives in white space, figures things out, and improves as you go
Analytical and structured – approaches problems with data and discipline
Operationally fluent – understands how plants, logistics, and customer delivery connect
Mission‑aligned – motivated by building a better, lower‑carbon industrial model
Self‑starter – comfortable working autonomously, with judgment and accountability
Owner mindset – takes full responsibility for achieving targets, not just for executing a sales process.
Creative problem‑solver – finds ways to win in an environment without playbooks or predefined systems.
Commercial builder – thrives on crafting strategy and messaging in real time, not waiting for a script.
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in commercial or general management roles where you were accountable for delivering results — ideally in industries selling commodity or technical products that require value‑based differentiation (e.g., industrial distribution, specialty materials, chemicals, or energy).
Experience in the CO₂ or industrial gas sector is a plus but not required — we value ownership, adaptability, and customer focus over specific industry background.
Proven ability to negotiate multi‑year contracts and manage customer relationships in technically informed markets.
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills; confident engaging directly with operational and technical teams.
Experience coordinating cross‑functional activities spanning sales, operations, and logistics.
Self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment and can structure their own approach.
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred — or equivalent combination of education and relevant commercial experience.
Based in or willing to relocate to Phoenix, AZ.
Position Summary
This role is built for a commercial builder who thrives on creating structure, forging relationships, and delivering results in a hands‑on environment. The Commercial Manager will help shape Alchemy’s go‑to‑market model in its first active market, working closely with operations, logistics, and leadership to ensure our customers experience reliability and transparency from day one.
