Job Summary
Sales Store Checkers operate a cash register scanning system to check out items and receive payment for purchases made in a commissary store. The work is similar to a cashier or clerk at a grocery or retail store.

Salary: $17.30 to $21.24 per hour (NTE 48–64 hours biweekly)
Open‑Continuous, initial cut‑off 11/16/2025, final closing 01/18/2026
Locations: Little Rock AFB, AR; Scott AFB, IL; Fort Campbell, KY; Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Kansas City, MO; Whiteman AFB, MO; Millington, TN (many vacancies)
Eligibility: U.S. citizens or nationals; military spouses; CTAP, ICTAP, RPL; other approved categories
Schedule: Part‑time – schedule varies; occasional travel required
Duties
Operate electronic checkout system and make change.
Verify change fund and amounts of currency received during a shift.
Manage change machines and ensure proper cash/coin levels.
Assist customers with questions about pricing, identification, and item location.
Count cash and negotiable instruments to prepare an accountability report.
Assist customers with self‑checkout registers and correct processing.
Change register tape, clear routine equipment, and resolve scanning jams.
Qualifications Education or Experience:
Six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical or office work.
One (1) year of education above high school.
Combination: divide total months of experience by 6, divide semester hours by 30, add percentages; 100% meets minimum qualifications.
Physical Requirements:
Stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 25 lbs independently and occasionally over 25 lbs with assistance.
Conditions of Employment
U.S. citizenship required.
Minimum age requirement; Selective Service registration for applicable males.
Successful verification of identity and employment eligibility through E‑Verify.
Background investigation and suitability/fitness determined; clearance eligibility as required.
Probationary or trial period may apply.
