Salary: $17.30 to $21.24 per hour NTE 48‑64 hours biweekly
Pay scale & grade: GS 3
Locations: Redstone Arsenal, AL; Arnold AFB, TN (many vacancies)
Appointment type: Permanent
Work schedule: Part‑time – Schedule varies by location and includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Travel required: Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.

Duties
Operate an electronic checkout system, make change, and verify the change fund and amount of currency received during an assigned shift.
Manage change machines and ensure proper amounts of cash and coins are available.
Assist customers by answering questions concerning prices, identification, and location of items.
Count cash and negotiable instruments to prepare an accountability report.
Manage the self‑checkout registers and assist customers in the correct processing of their purchases.
Change register tape, and clear routine equipment and scanning jams on registers.
Conditions of Employment
U.S. citizenship or nationality (Permanent Resident Card holders are eligible for other positions).
Meet minimum age requirement (see additional information).
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with or exempt from Selective Service.
Appointment subject to successful verification of identity and employment eligibility through E‑Verify.
Appointment subject to a favorable suitability or fitness outcome, as determined by a completed background investigation.
May be subject to a probationary/trial period.
Direct deposit of pay is required.

Qualifications Experience
– Six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position (general experience).
Education
– One (1) full year of education above high school. Transcripts are required if relying on education, in whole or in part, to qualify.
Combination of experience and education
– To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 6, then divide your semester hours by 30 and add the two percentages. If the total is 100 %, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
Physical requirements
– Stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 25 pounds independently and occasionally over 25 pounds with assistance.
