Duties
Operate an electronic checkout system, make change, and verify the change fund and amount of currency received during an assigned shift.
Manage change machines and ensure proper amounts of cash and coins are available.
Assist customers by answering questions concerning prices, identification, and location of items.
Count cash and negotiable instruments to prepare an accountability report.
Assist customers in self-checkout registers and correct processing of purchases.
Change register tape and clear routine equipment and scanning jams on registers.
Conditions of Employment
Be a U.S. citizen or national; proof of citizenship required.
Meet minimum age requirement. Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
Successful verification of identity and employment eligibility through E-Verify.
Favorable suitability or fitness through background investigation.
Obtain and maintain clearance eligibility.
May be subject to probationary/trial period.
Direct deposit of pay required.

Qualifications Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2091 and additional requirements.
Experience:
Six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work.
Education:
One (1) full year of education above high school.
Combination:
Calculate: (months of experience ÷ 6) + (semester hours ÷ 30); 100% qualifies.
Physical requirements:
Stand for prolonged periods.
Lift up to 25 lbs independently; occasionally over 25 lbs with assistance.
Certifications may be required for background clearance and suitability.
