Salary: $17.30 – $22.36 per hour (GS‑3), up to 48‑64 hours, bi‑weekly payroll.

Responsibilities

Operate electronic checkout system, handle payments and verify change fund.

Manage change machines and ensure proper amounts of cash and coins.

Assist customers with price, item identification, and location questions.

Count cash and negotiable instruments to prepare accountability reports.

Assist customers on self‑checkout registers.

Change register tape and clear routine equipment and scanning jams.

Requirements

U.S. citizen or national (permanent resident not eligible).

Meet minimum age requirement (see Additional Information).

Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with or exempt from Selective Service.

Verification of identity and employment eligibility via E‑Verify.

Positive suitability/fitness background investigation (new employees will be fingerprinted).

Maintain clearance eligibility.

Probationary/trial period possible.

Qualifications

Meet OPM qualifications for series 2091 and additional requirements by the closing date.

Experience: 6 months of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work indicating ability to acquire necessary knowledge and skills.

OR Education: 1 full year of education above high school (transcripts required).

OR Combination: Experience / Education – divide months of experience / 6 + semester hours / 30, add percentages; 100% qualifies.

Physical requirements:

Stand for prolonged periods.

Lift up to 25 lb independently; occasionally >25 lb with assistance.

Competencies (questionnaire): Communications, Register Operations, Store Operations.
