Knowledge of state vehicle inspection laws, shop safety, vehicle repair procedures, and basic math. Skill in courteously interacting with others. Ability to understand written instructions, read and interpret technical manuals, communicate effectively, and use basic auto mechanic tools and shop equipment. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with automotive mechanic tools and diagnostic equipment. Experience tracking maintenance work using a computer program. Preferred Qualifications
Technical/vocational training (ASE certifications). Golf cart/utility vehicle diagnosis and repair. Associate’s degree in an automotive related field. Job Description
The Auto Mechanic is responsible for basic vehicle maintenance and repair. Job Duties
Provide automotive diagnostics, repair, and routine maintenance. Handle work‑order documentation, parts requisitioning, and inventory duties. Control the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of various automotive components. Perform skilled work such as engine performance diagnosis, repair, and tune‑ups; vehicle preventive maintenance servicing; and various other repairs and maintenance of all University vehicles and equipment. Perform vehicle state inspections. Perform other related duties as assigned. Additional Information to Applicants
