Personal Lines Account Manager
Reports to Chief Operating Officer, Personal Lines Manager
Essential Functions Assists Producers in procuring new business and handles sales and servicing of assigned POWERS personal lines clients and prospects in an accurate and timely manner to exceed client expectations.
Position Summary Requires a committed, energetic and empathetic listener with excellent communication skills, a commitment to serve others, ability to multi‑task, problem‑solve and a desire to achieve and continually learn. The individual must be detail oriented, accurate, organized and efficient. Assists Producers in procuring new business and handles sales and servicing of assigned POWERS personal lines clients and prospects.
Business Development
Works with Personal Lines clients and prospects and Producers to determine appropriate coverages, prepare applications and other submission documents, review quotations and prepare proposals on new business as assigned.
Consults with Producers to market existing assigned accounts, determining appropriate coverages and opportunities.
Check and document, as needed, carrier alerts.
Keeps informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending company training meetings on new coverages and products.
New Business
Works with prospects and Producers to compile all information needed to provide quotes for new accounts within 2 days of receiving the request.
Pulls and assembles proper policy forms as needed.
Selects appropriate carrier (based on product, rates, etc.) within 2 days of receiving the request.
Inputs new applications into the system if needed and/or submits to the company within 24 hours of binding.
Prepares proposals for new accounts and reviews with Producers within 2 days, if needed.
Checks new policies and prepares for delivery to the client within 3 days of receipt.
Renewal Business
Prepares applications, obtains and organizes related documents (MVRs, inspections, etc.) for the assigned book of business when needed.
Conducts ongoing risk management reviews of personal lines files to identify inadequate coverages or limits.
Prepares proposals for renewals and reviews with Producers within 5 days.
Solicits expiration dates and additional coverages from existing clients to round out accounts.
Processes endorsements and cancellations through communication with the insured, company, and Producers.
Checks all policies and endorsements for accuracy and orders corrections if needed.
Processes claims, including completion of ACORD forms, and monitors/assists with settlement progress, if needed.
Prepares all policy invoices correctly and completes them by the time the policy is mailed.
Responds to questions and complaints from insureds within 4 hours; resolves issues ASAP.
Maintains a professional and positive relationship with company underwriters.
Office Efficiency
Agency objective is to be highly profitable.
Utilizes and strives to improve the agency management system, its related workflow and interface advances.
Utilizes, organizes and maintains client, prospect and carrier records, account folders and computer files in accordance with established procedures.
Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
5 years of experience in the insurance field preferred.
Must be a good communicator with strong verbal skills.
Competent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to master the agency management system are highly desirable.
Self‑directed, organized, accurate and efficient, able to work with many individuals at various levels.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision to achieve expected results.
Detail‑oriented, accurate, strong at upselling, creative thinker.
Missouri Property and Casualty Producer License required.
