We are currently seeking a Health & Life Underwriter to join our Underwriting Department. The role involves analyzing applications, reviewing prior data, claim histories, and supporting documents to determine eligibility for immediate issuance or the need for further investigation. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze applications, review previous application data, claim history, and supporting documents to determine if an application can be issued immediately or if further investigation is required. • Perform necessary system transactions to correct application records. • Contact agents and applicants to clarify and correct inconsistent information. • Evaluate existing coverage amounts from Combined and other carriers to determine benefit amounts and replacement regulations. • Examine underwriting parameters for guidance in determining if additional information is needed to evaluate risk. • Authenticate income and occupation class and equate to benefits applied for. • Review medical records and phone interviews to approve or decline applications. • Perform necessary system transactions to approve or decline applications.
