Position Summary This role drives sales in the Vision Center through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, inventory management, budgeting, and forecasting. The manager provides guidance to associates on customer service best practices, resolves complaints, participates in community outreach, ensures compliance with company and legal policies, and directs vision center operations. The manager educates members on eyewear selection, handles minor frame repair, maintains equipment, and provides a safe, high‑performance work environment.
Responsibilities
Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, and inventory levels.
Budget and forecast sales, assess economic trends and community needs.
Model and enforce proper customer/member service approaches, resolve complaints within company guidelines.
Oversee community outreach programs and encourage associates to serve as good community members.
Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, analyze reports, implement safeguards, supervise safety and quality assurance reviews.
Develop action plans to improve performance, provide direction on Company programs and strategic initiatives.
Supervise and develop Vision Center associates: hire, train, mentor, assign duties, recognize performance, promote a belonging mindset.
Consult with and educate members on eyewear selection, obtain measurements, verify prescriptions, maintain confidential information, perform minor frame repair, and maintain optical equipment.
Support the Open Door Policy by attending associate meetings, researching issues, reviewing policies, and suggesting resolutions.
Coordinate job‑related activities and assignments, build relationships with stakeholders, support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
Establish accountability, measure progress, identify improvement opportunities, and promote continuous learning.
Maintain high ethical standards, uphold Walmart values, and support company goals, including regenerative initiatives.
Serve customers and members by delivering results, adapting to customer preferences, and applying business models.
Make data‑based decisions, balance priorities, and consider communities when planning.
Maintain a culture of belonging, respect diversity, and foster a supportive workplace.
Act with integrity: practice humility, self‑awareness, honesty, and fairness.
Drive continuous improvement, adopt new technologies, and guide others through change.
Minimum Qualifications Completion of 2 or more years of college or 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience, or 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience.
Preferred Qualifications Supervising Associates experience.
