Physical Requirements The physical requirements for this position include regular sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50 lbs; occasional travel for work-related purposes.

Job Summary The ITS Executive Director of Revenue Cycle serves as a key member of the UK HealthCare (UKHC) IT Leadership Team and plays a critical role in shaping and executing the IT strategic plan to enhance healthcare delivery and business value. This position drives transformational change across IT and operational areas, ensuring alignment with UKHC’s mission, vision, and values. The Executive Director provides strategic leadership for revenue cycle technology, overseeing the application portfolios for patient access, scheduling, hospital and professional billing systems, mid-cycle health information management, electronic health records, ancillary revenue cycle applications, and related operational areas. This role ensures compliance with security, performance, and usability standards while applying ITIL best practices and full lifecycle management for application development, testing, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Collaborates on IT strategic planning and technology strategies to enable cost-effective, digitally connected healthcare across a large, complex academic and regional health system.

Executive Collaboration:

Partners with revenue cycle leaders and stakeholders to achieve operational and medical excellence, fostering innovation and responsiveness to complex challenges.

Portfolio Oversight:

Manages revenue cycle application portfolios, ensuring timely project execution, resource allocation, and adherence to budgets and timelines.

Governance & Process Improvement:

Participates in governance committees, solicits stakeholder feedback, and implements process improvements for better alignment across portfolios.

Builds strong relationships across the enterprise and affiliated organizations, ensuring congruence in healthcare application delivery and driving best practices that position UK HealthCare for national recognition.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities The ability to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with organizational goals; deep understanding of patient access, scheduling, hospital and professional billing systems, EHR integration, and mid-cycle operations; skilled in resource allocation, budgeting, timelines, and executive-level reporting; ability to identify gaps, implement process improvements, and optimize technology solutions.

Supervisory Responsibility Yes

Preferred Education / Experience Master’s degree in information technology, health informatics, business administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare IT or revenue cycle operations within a large, complex health system; proven experience in IT strategic planning, application portfolio management, and governance processes preferred. Experience with Epic highly preferred.
