What to Expect
The Shipping Coordinator will have strong analytical abilities, communication skills and possess in-depth knowledge of logistics operations in a lean manufacturing environment. As a member of the Production Control (PC) team, the Shipping Coordinator will work cross-functionally with Logistics, PC dock, hostler teams, external 3PL providers, gate operations and material planning stakeholders to manage inventory movement and on-site yard operations. All materials being received or shipped may be accompanied by a variety of documents which require special handling by personnel involved. All plant receiving and shipping transactions mechanically generate additional documents when appropriate. The documents may be used for receipt verification, material routing and identification and outbound forwarding. This role requires strong knowledge of MFS/WARP/ARC/TMS/TVP systems knowledge, external logistics, yard management systems, and exceptional problem-solving capabilities with inside and outside stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Leverage MFS inventory screen to select appropriate trailer for proper commodity in area
Provide material impact time for hostlers to have a sense of how much time they must bring trailer
Transaction clean-up, GR completion, PINK/YMS note updates and keep a meticulous record of shipment information
Ensure proper material is loaded on correct assets and ensure system is updated accurately in a timely fashion
Work with 3PL to maintain Cell inventory level and work with material planner to elevate material if necessary
Determine trailer schedules and track compliance of trailer appointments from the supplier & window deliveries from external warehouses
Maintain good housekeeping and proper safety practices in work areas
What You'll Bring
Current full-time employee within PC. Experience in material handling and warehouse operations
Ability to perform repetitive duties, including lifting, bending, and standing
Must be able to handle materials weighing up to 30 lbs. and operate mobile equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
