Responsibilities
Coordinate documentation required by U.S. Customs and other government agencies for the entry of goods into the U.S. on behalf of importers.
Provide impeccable customer service.
Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, or customs.
Data‑entry and processing of various import‑related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs, and may handle all participating government agencies (PGA’s).
Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record‑keeping requirements.
Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
Work closely with internal staff, other departments, FedEx operations, and customers to deliver a high level of service.
Process agency brokerage shipments and may handle remote filings.
Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
HS Diploma or GED required.
No industry experience required; minimum of 6 months of work experience preferred.
Data entry/keyboard experience required.
Working knowledge of MS Office and email applications such as Outlook using multiple screens and windows.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to handle a high volume of work, manage time‑sensitive tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Must possess customer service skills, be computer literate, and be able to function in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Some openings will offer variable remote (work‑from‑home) opportunities subject to company policy. Remote work will be available after 5–6 months of onsite performance and accuracy.
Work Schedule
Possible shifts for 1st M‑F 7 am–3:30 pm, M‑F 8 am–4:30 pm, or Tues–Sat 7 am–3:30 pm.
Compensation
Base pay: $15.75–$16.00 per hour.
Temporary $3.00 per hour premium during surge volume, subject to removal with 30 days’ notice.
