Opportunity Our Sales and Use Tax Lookback Review COE is a national team that leads large multi-state, sales and use tax recovery projects for EY’s largest clients. It’s a place where you’ll develop as a multi-state tax practitioner, taking on new skills and responsibilities while benefiting from dedicated mentors and training programs.

Key Responsibilities

Work on diverse sales and use tax recovery projects across multiple industries.

Provide up-to-the-minute tax advice to clients, ensuring reliability and credibility.

Collaborate in a highly cooperative culture, sharing and listening for continuous improvement.

Skills & Attributes for Success

Research and understand client business operations and build long-lasting relationships.

Identify applicable sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions.

Spot potential overpayment opportunities or risks and communicate findings.

Stay current on tax law changes to maintain advisor credibility.

Develop clear, intelligent plans for sales and use tax recoveries.

Prepare and defend sales and use tax refund claims.

Participate in a motivated professional team.

Manage team members, ensuring skills, knowledge, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

Professional knowledge across broad sales and use tax processes, concepts, and tools.

Experience managing budgets, people, and projects.

Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.

Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.

Ability to prioritize multiple complex projects.

Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.

Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.

Additional Credentials

Achieved CPA qualification, membership in the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or state bar membership.

Comprehensive compensation with a base salary ranging from $105,100 to $192,600 in the U.S., with higher ranges for major metros.
