Inside Sales Representative Job Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and self‑directed Inside Sales Representative to join our office‑based sales team. The primary role is to log and create quotes, follow up with customers on quotes, enter feedback into our CRM system, and communicate the status of key quotes to outside sales representatives. This position is essential to streamlining our sales process, ensuring accurate data management, and supporting our outside sales team in closing new business. The ideal candidate excels at phone and email communication, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is meticulous in managing details.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Quote logging & preparation: Logs quotes into the system and ensures they progress through all of the quote preparation gates and get submitted to the customer promptly.

Quote Follow‑Up: Proactively contacts customers via phone and email to follow up on submitted quotes, gather feedback, and address inquiries or concerns.

CRM Data Management: Accurately enters customer feedback, quote updates, and interaction details into the CRM system to maintain up‑to‑date records.

Communication with Outside Sales: Regularly updates outside sales representatives on the status of important quotes, highlighting urgent opportunities or issues.

Customer Relationship Support: Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers through professional and timely communication. Handles a seamless transition from inside sales to customer service once business is secured.

Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve quote follow‑up processes and CRM data accuracy, collaborating with the sales team to implement solutions.

Administrative Support: Assists with preparing sales reports, tracking quote performance, and other tasks to support the sales department.

Customer portals, customer surveys, and all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.

0–3 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role (experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred but not required).

Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus.

Qualifications/Skills

Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate CRM data entry and quote tracking.

Self‑directed with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong communication skills, with comfort and confidence engaging customers via phone and email.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to learn CRM and sales tracking tools quickly.

Understanding of the iron casting or manufacturing industry is a plus but not mandatory (training provided).

Customer Focus: Ability to build rapport with customers and understand their needs.

Organization: Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple quotes and tasks simultaneously.

Team Collaboration: Works effectively with outside sales reps and other team members to achieve sales goals.

Problem‑Solving: Proactively addresses customer concerns and process inefficiencies.
