Responsibilities
Review, process, and close out Workplace Violence and NYCHA Safety and Security reports.
Assist, implement, and monitor safety and security initiatives at NYCHA developments.
Conduct unannounced inspections of buildings where there are Security/Firewatch guards.
Maintain safety and security records, written reports, daily and monthly metrics.
Conduct regular audits of files to ensure compliance with department/agency guidelines and protocols.
Perform risk assessments at each NYCHA property.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions and community meetings as required.
Work with NYCHA Security and NYPD on various safety initiatives.
Perform daily office operational tasks.
Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to above.
Preferred Skills
Established proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to interact with all levels of management.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
Ability to take initiative, problem‑solve, work independently and within a team setting.
Additional Information
NYCHA employees applying for transfer, promotional, title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year at current location and in current title and level (if applicable).
