Position Overview Regional Sales Manager drives profitable growth by facilitating effective sales and marketing activities through retail distribution channels within an assigned territory. The RSM is responsible for identifying new distribution opportunities, qualifying potential dealerships, assigning territories, negotiating dealer agreements, signing dealers, onboarding dealers, training dealers in sales & marketing practices, and supporting dealers in sales, marketing, finance & service.

Key Responsibilities

Support dealership success by training dealer sales teams on retail sales tactics, product knowledge, and key competitive advantages; build strong Flamingo/dealer relationships, 5 wide and 5 deep… Principal/GM, Sales, Marketing, Finance & Service.

Qualify potential dealers, negotiate & assign dealer territories & dealer agreements, and onboard dealers.

Partner with dealer principals & dealer teams to develop marketing plans, set sales targets, optimize model mix for local markets, and implement effective merchandising strategies.

Conduct market analysis and reporting, identify missed opportunities, and implement market improvement initiatives.

Manage regional sales goals and ensure dealer compliance with all sales programs and standards.

Serve as the primary channel for “voice of the customer” feedback to inform new product development, collecting input from dealers and end users on product features and priorities.

Perform competitive product analysis to maintain a strong understanding of market positioning.

Represent the brand at regional consumer boat shows, dealer open houses, training sessions, and other industry events (15–20 weekends per year).

Skills & Competencies

Strong sales acumen including prospecting, qualifying, negotiating, and closing.

Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills across all levels—from end users to internal teams, principals/executives, and high net worth clientele.

Customer service orientation with the ability to support both dealers and consumers.

Effective time management, organization, and delegation skills.

Knowledge of dealership operations and fundamentals of retail distribution management.

Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and use of key performance metrics.

Skilled in conflict management and persuasive communication.

Experience analyzing market demographics and sales data (e.g., SSI or similar tools).

Proficient in communications (email, text, phone, presentations), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and lead/customer management systems (Hubspot, Salesforce).

Education & Experience & Preference

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, dealer management, or a related field preferred.

Experience in dealer management or an account manager for similar products strongly preferred; including event promotion, regional dealership management, and market analysis.

Enthusiasm for boating and familiarity with the marine industry is highly valued.

Prefer RSM living within territory.
