Job Description Brooklyn Community Board #3 represents the neighborhood of Bedford‑Stuyvesant. The Community Board office assists residents with municipal service delivery requests, community concerns and issues.

We are looking to hire a Full‑Time Community Associate. The position requires in‑office work Monday‑Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, five days a week. Occasional night meetings may be required. The associate must attend monthly General Board meetings and other meetings and events as assigned by the District Manager.

Responsibilities

Field phone calls and emails from city agencies, elected officials’ offices, and the public.

Assist with the preparation for general board and committee meetings.

Work on projects that advance district service and quality‑of‑life goals, providing status reports.

Provide constituent services, responding to and resolving constituent service requests.

Manage website updates, social media accounts, and board newsletter.

Perform general office administrative tasks, including filing, scheduling, general correspondence, drafting letters and promotional materials, and posting public notices.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree and two years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities related to the duties described above.

High‑school graduation with four years of community work experience, or equivalent education/experience as described in the first qualification.

Education and/or experience that is equivalent to the first qualification.
