Job Description Brooklyn Community Board #3 represents the neighborhood of Bedford‑Stuyvesant. The Community Board office assists residents with municipal service delivery requests, community concerns and issues.

COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE - 56057

We are looking to hire a Full‑Time Community Associate to work onsite during business hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for five days a week at the Community Board #3 Office. The position requires some night meetings and attendance at monthly General Board Meetings as well as other meetings and events assigned by the District Manager.

Specific Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To

Fielding phone calls and emails from city agencies, elected officials’ offices, and the public

Assisting with the preparation for general board and committee meetings

Working on projects that advance district service and quality of life goals, providing status reports

Constituent Services, responding and resolving constituent service requests

Managing website updates, social media accounts, and the board newsletter

General office administrative tasks, including filing, scheduling, and general correspondence

Drafting letters and promotional materials, and posting public notices

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent and at least three years of experience in community work or community‑centered activities related to the duties described above

Education and/or experience equivalent to the above
