Sales Estimator (Commercial + Residential Painting, Repair & Waterproofing)
Alachua, FL (On‑Site)
Base pay range $60,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr
We’re looking for a Sales Estimator who can sell and estimate profitable painting, repair, and waterproofing work while representing our company with integrity from the first call through project completion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys client relationships, can think like an owner about margin and risk, and can move fast without sacrificing accuracy or professionalism.
Key Responsibilities Estimate + Proposal Execution
Estimate primarily commercial painting, basic carpentry, and basic waterproofing projects with accuracy and clear scope definition.
For larger projects, perform quantity takeoffs and manage addenda/RFIs and bid due‑date changes.
Confirm material pricing accuracy; bid paint material on projects above $25k with suppliers (PPG, SW, etc.).
Define assumptions/exclusions clearly; produce complete bids that align with customer expectations.
Sales Performance + Responsiveness
Maintain fast proposal turnaround: bids $10k or lower in 48 hours (except custom repair); larger bids in one week or by deadline.
Respond to client texts/voicemails/emails within 24 hours (same day for key clients when possible).
Confirm receipt of larger estimates and follow up professionally.
Maintain an aggregate Sales Ratio of 45%+ and support annual commercial/residential targets.
Demonstrate tenacity and organizational skills in closing sales with clients.
Client Experience + Jobsite Presence
Serve as a trusted advisor: understand needs, problem‑solve, and recommend the right solution (or refer out when appropriate).
Conduct site visits when possible; document surface/site conditions in CompanyCam and PaintScout.
Attend scheduled bid meetings in person, on time, and in uniform.
Pipeline + Process Discipline
Manage bids and opportunities through systems (Pipedrive/CRM, CompanyCam, PaintScout, Google Workspace).
Provide weekly structure to support the VA Estimator and ensure bid tasks/ deadlines are clearly assigned and tracked.
Participate in our weekly leadership meeting and bi‑weekly GS&R meetings; track KPIs and progress toward deliverables.
Qualifications
Experience estimating and/or selling commercial and/or residential painting (bonus if you’ve estimated repairs/waterproofing/carpentry).
Strong grasp of scope review, production rates, materials, and job risk assessment.
Organized and tech‑comfortable (Google Workspace + estimating/CRM tools).
Clear communicator with strong ethical standards and follow‑through.
Valid driver’s license + reliable vehicle.

Compensation & Benefits
Full‑time, W‑2 position.
Base salary: $60,000/year (paid biweekly via direct deposit).
Commission: 5% on projects sold from Sales Estimator‑generated leads; 2% on repeat/referral customers (no commission on existing customers). Commission paid quarterly and only on jobs meeting GP thresholds.
Bonus package (based on production + margin performance).
7 paid holidays + 10 PTO days.
Primary care fully covered OR 80% insurance reimbursement (up to $300/month).
401(k) with 100% match on the first 4% (after 6 months).
Mileage reimbursement: $0.55/mile for approved business travel.
