Position Summary We are seeking an extraordinary Field Sales Manager who achieves sales volume and distribution objectives by managing and coaching a team of sales representatives to meet performance goals through proper planning, organization, training, and execution.

Essential Position Results

Pre‑plans prior to each sales period by holding one‑on‑one meetings with each representative, strategizing goal attainment, and defining target accounts.

Conducts effective weekly meetings with reps, communicating objectives, identifying opportunities, reviewing performance against goals, and guiding team members to close gaps.

Develops and reviews performance enhancement plans, maintaining training files, conducting evaluations, monitoring 90‑day new‑hire reviews, performing coaching calls, filling out MBOs, and following up on progress.

Addresses skill deficiencies with customized coaching plans, tracking progress and recording improvement.

Demonstrates strong customer orientation by maintaining relationships with key accounts, identifying opportunities, performing business reviews, developing opening orders, selling‑in resets, managing territories, and resolving complaints.

Achieves territory financial plan.

Participates in associate interview and selection with HR, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, and managing onboarding.

Manages supplier surveys by planning routes, pre‑surveying accounts, conducting surveys, recapping, and scheduling reps.

Coordinates supplier ride‑withs in collaboration with Business Managers.

Resolves customer issues following company policies and escalating as needed.

Completes all necessary training programs by attending, participating, and passing all required tests.

Maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking.

Maintains confidentiality and upholds operational security.

Maintains a safe, clean work environment and complies with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities The Field Sales Manager supervises sales representatives on his/her team.

Minimum Qualifications Education, Certifications and/or Licenses:

4‑year college degree or equivalent.

Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit.

Valid driver’s license preferred.

Wine WSET Level 2 or higher.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge / Skills

Understanding of wine and spirits.

Leadership, interpersonal, organizational skills, problem‑solving, and customer service.

Previous spirits and wine sales management experience preferred; experience as a sales representative for a large distributor preferred.

Results‑oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication, diplomacy, discretion, and strong customer service.

Ability to multi‑task, work independently or in a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.

Proficient PC skills using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and other programs.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 plus annual bonus potential and eligible for sales incentives.

Monthly automobile allowance, travel reimbursement.
