Your Next Opportunity The BIM Modeler III is responsible for providing modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards. This leader of the production team, and typically the Model Manager, is responsible for all functions of a BIM project—including the drawings, model quality, and coordination files for the project. The role efficiently takes part in and supervises modeling and documentation of the project, oversees its own production, and provides task‑based training to other staff.
What You’ll Do
Capable of successfully performing all tasks of a BIM Modeler II
Work with the Family Development Team for revised standards or a project’s needs
Lead and supervise the modeling and documentation of projects
Provide effective verbal and written direction to support staff
Manage all aspects of assigned projects—including models, resource needs, progress, and potential impacts on scope, schedule, and budget
Create and maintain an electrical Revit model using backgrounds from other trades following all REI standards
Work with a diverse team across multiple departments and disciplines
Supervise the layout and input of marked‑up drawings into Revit in accordance with REI Standards
Maintain REI confidentiality and comply with non‑disclosure requirements, protecting proprietary or company intellectual property
Perform duties as described while remaining flexible—additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs
What You Bring To Us
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computerized Drafting, Architectural Design, or a related discipline with at least 1 year of experience in Revit
Minimum of 5 years’ total experience with knowledge of electrical symbols, drafting conventions, and standards
Combination of education, training, and relevant experience may satisfy these requirements
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
Effective performance management skills
Advanced knowledge of Revit—creation and manipulation of families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar
Strong verbal and written direction, turning guidance into constructible design documents
Complete understanding of REI BIM processes, procedures, and standards including workflow processes
Fluency in reading 2‑D plans—electronic or hard copy—including one‑lines, lighting schedules, panel schedules, and feeder schedules
Ability to type, proofread, and spell‑check work without supervision
Understanding of Revit work sharing process and method
Advanced skills beyond basic building elements—model setup, team leadership, annotation, project scheduling, workload assignment, and deadline management
Proficient use of a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Prioritization and multitasking, adapting to changing priorities as necessary
Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Strong oral and written communication skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
Professional interaction with all levels of employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and others
Working Conditions
General environment: sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Noise level typically low to medium, but can be loud on a job site
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
