About The Team On the New Verticals team, our mission is to build the future of local commerce by expanding product offerings on the DoorDash platform. Stationed regionally, the team owns new business development by creating deep partnerships with local and regional merchants across Grocery, Convenience, Liquor, Retail, and Flower segments.

About The Role We are looking for an Account Executive – Field Sales to join our New Verticals team. This hybrid role combines primarily inside sales (~70%) with targeted field-based selling (~30%) to close high-priority deals. You’ll be responsible for identifying, pitching, and signing the best local and regional small‑ and mid‑size merchants (SMBs) onto DoorDash.

In this position, you will manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting through close—within a fast‑paced, transactional environment. Most of your day will be spent in an office or home‑office setting making high‑volume outreach, engaging prospects creatively, and driving deals forward. When needed, you’ll step into the field to meet merchants face‑to‑face, build relationships, and finalize partnerships. Some travel, including occasional overnights or flights, is required.

You will report to the Sales Manager for New Verticals and gain direct exposure to career development opportunities as the team continues to grow. We expect this role to remain flexible, with a mix of in‑office and remote work. You should be comfortable traveling for in‑person collaboration—such as trainings, team offsites, and closing meetings—as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

Help transform the way stand‑alone liquor stores monetize through our on‑demand delivery service.

Create a great first impression with merchants and build a pipeline of qualified leads.

Lead the full sales cycle while closing transactions to attain new business from small to mid‑size merchants.

Master email marketing automation tools to creatively engage prospects.

Make a high volume of cold calls (80+ daily) and emails to prospects.

Spend time prospecting and closing deals in the field in person, up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications

3–4 years of experience working in a high volume inside sales environment.

Experience in small–medium (SMB) business‑to‑business sales.

Managed a full sales cycle and has been in a closing or lead generation sales role.

Genuinely curious about people, local businesses, and technology.

Dynamic personality with a customer‑focused mindset.

Creative, persistent, and passionate about sales.

Can navigate sales and internal tools quickly (Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator, Google Apps).

Compensation Base salary is localized according to employee work location. In addition to base salary, the compensation includes opportunities for sales commission. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

Paid Time Off

For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.

For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked; paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
