Overview Barnes‑Jewish Hospital, the largest hospital in Missouri and a top U.S. News & World Report hospital, is part of Washington University Medical Center. The Clinical Management Services (CM) report through the division of Patient Care Services, led by the Chief Nursing Executive. The Social Work department operates 24 h/day, supporting patients across the hospital.

Role Purpose Under the direction of a physician, assist patients and families in adapting and planning an interdisciplinary approach to treat the patient‑family system. Employees at an Illinois facility must possess an Illinois state social work license or be able to obtain it within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Provide direct clinical services to patients and families.

Plan and implement social work services on assigned unit in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Collaborate with community human service agencies to meet patient, family, and hospital needs.

Minimum Requirements

Master’s Degree in Social Work

No prior experience required

Preferred Requirements

2–5 years of experience

Licensed Master Social Worker
