Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: Lead and inspire a team of creative professionals to produce solutions that generate positive performance implications indicative of a growing organization. Bridge the gap between a client’s vision and creative execution, ensuring each project aligns with brand and project goals. Ensure outputs resonate with clients and target audiences. From conceptualization to final delivery, oversee all aspects of the design process, fostering innovation and maintaining high‑quality standards to create successful outputs via a wide variety of mediums in a sophisticated and strategically relevant way.
This role demands the confidence to offer creative and assertive ideas and exhibit a passion to sell ideas to peers and clients in a positive and sophisticated manner. The Art Director will be key in ensuring quality through all core proficiencies of creative services, be it internal or external. This role will also be proactive, hands‑on, and busy from an output, leadership, and administrative standpoint.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and execute visual concepts reflective of business objectives and platform/media best practices; delivering value‑add thinking that demonstrates deep understanding of the client’s business, brand, audience, and category trends.
Ensure the creative team exhibits efficient operational readiness and delivers the proficiencies and bandwidth required by the organization.
Manage and develop the creative team to elevate capabilities and overall creative quality through coaching, career development conversations, and skills training opportunities.
Collaborate with internal clients, leadership, and external freelancers and agencies.
Develop presentation approaches, vehicles, and techniques to communicate projects and status for organizational awareness on multiple communication platforms. Present concepts, strategies, and rationale to clients and internal teams.
Oversee adherence to brand guidelines. Maintain detailed visual guidelines and design principles to drive creative consistency across all touchpoints and conduct regular creative review sessions.
Analyze market trends, consumer needs, and the competitor landscape, and meet with cross‑functional partners to align new tactics and strategies based on analysis of the organization’s performance data.
Direction Of Others
Lead, coach and manage a creative team consisting of FTE, contract, and freelance professionals providing direct management and work direction.
Lead project teams and cross‑functional efforts to provide marketing tools and resources.
Collaborate with cross‑functional delivery partners, including marketing, sales, sales support, customer experience and response teams, IT, finance, marketing analytics, product management and marketing services.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or greater in graphic design, visual communications or related field.
15+ years of related experience preferred.
Ability to effectively design both print and digital applications (non‑dynamic).
Strategic‑minded and driven to over‑deliver.
Thorough understanding of current arts trends, photography, typography, printing, basic retail environmental approaches.
Communicates effectively, builds positive relationships and fosters the growth of others.
Strong time management, proactive, resourceful and nimble.
Excellent computer skills in relevant art and design software packages, including Adobe Creative Suite and AI design platforms.
Motivated and well organized with a good eye for detail.
Proven track record of successful creative project management and output.
Ability to see other people’s point of view and cope with pressure and criticism to deliver collaborative deliverables.
Compensation Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
Pay Range $99,216.00 - $153,784.00
