Location: San Antonio, TX Pay Range: $145,000
$160,000 (based on experience) Incentive Bonus: 17.5%
26.25% Sign-On Bonus: Case by case Relocation Assistance: Case by case Schedule: Full-Time, Days (No Weekends) Facility Size: 378 beds ER Beds: 29 (expansion plans underway) Trauma Level: Level 4 Annual ER Volume: ~50,000 visits Staff: 100, including 2 Managers, CNC, EMS Techs Reports To: Chief Nursing Officer Position Summary
The Director of Emergency Services is accountable for high-quality, patient-centered emergency care through oversight of all aspects of department function, staffing, forecasting, planning, and budget management. This leader cultivates a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational and departmental objectives. Key Responsibilities
Champion evidence-based practices to promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance Lead patient throughput strategies to ensure efficient, high-quality care delivery and effective admission/discharge planning Maintain a culture of accountability and transparency in clinical operations Direct nursing practice, operations, policies, and procedures to address patient and family needs Drive exceptional patient experience outcomes and foster consistent, compassionate interactions Collaborate to benchmark, strategize, and improve customer satisfaction Develop and support employee engagement, recognition, and development initiatives Build and retain a highly skilled and motivated team to meet facility needs Identify and develop opportunities for service line growth and new offerings Partner with administration, physicians, and stakeholders for service excellence and differentiation Oversee annual budget and ongoing financial performance, managing staffing, expenses, and supply utilization Lead initiatives for cost control and continuous process improvement Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred Minimum 1+ year of applicable emergency department leadership experience required; 3+ years preferred Strong background in developing high-performing teams and achieving quality, financial, and patient experience targets Experience managing budgets, employee engagement, and driving service line growth Key Facility Highlights
