Mechanical Associate Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Associate to join our Kinetics Group. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related automation field and hold active engineering licensure in at least one jurisdiction. In this role, you will contribute to the technical assessment of a wide variety of systems ranging from large operable elements for sports and industrial facilities to small intricate mechanisms for art installations. A strong passion for troubleshooting and problem solving is required, as is the desire to mentor a team of junior engineers across multiple disciplines. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles across mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the determination to continuously learn and grow. Responsibilities
Machinery Analysis and Design: Lead an engineering team in the analysis and design of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards. Technical Writing: Utilize technical writing skills to effectively communicate analysis results and recommendations. Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. CAD Software Proficiency: Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks, to articulate mechanical designs. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in translating concepts into detailed engineering drawings. Critical Thinking: Demonstrate the ability to think critically and methodically when evaluating mechanical systems. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot is crucial when identifying and resolving potential issues. Field Work and Observation: Occasionally travel to perform field work, conduct on-site assessments, and gather data for analysis. This may involve working in various environments to assess the performance of machinery and systems. Collaboration: Manage projects for production, quality, client satisfaction, and budgetary objectives. Work closely with the engineering team to interpret applicable industry codes and standards, review and audit project documentation to support forensics findings. Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding project statuses. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Master's degree preferred. Professional Engineering Licensure in at least one jurisdiction. Proficiency in machinery design and analysis. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably Inventor or SolidWorks. Strong technical writing skills. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Willingness to travel for field work and observations. Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $115,000 - $155,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions. Benefits
